How long does the registration last?
The trademark is protected within Andorran territory for a period of 10 years from the date of application (date of registration) and can be renewed indefinitely every 10 years for all or part of the products and/or services covered by the trademark registration.
What kind of modifications can be made to the trademark registration?
Once the trademark is registered, the name can be modified (as long as ownership is not transferred) and the owner's address.
What kind of modifications cannot be made to the trademark registration?
Reproduction of the trademark cannot be modified. Modification of the trademark can only be acquired through a new registration.
The list of products and/or services cannot be expanded. It can only be expanded through a new registration.
What kind of entries can be made on the Trademark Registry?
Transfers, licence concessions and renunciations can be entered, for all or part of the products and/or services covered by the Registry, pledges, etc.
Renewal
The renewal form for a trademark registration can be presented to the OMPA six months before expiry of the 10-year term. Renewal can be for all or part of the products and/or services covered by the Registry.
If, on the date of expiry, the trademark registration has not been renewed, it can still be done within the period of grace of six months, by payment of the set supplementary fee.
Expiry
If the trademark registration is not renewed on expiry of the period of grace (six months after the registration date), the OMPA will mark on the Trademark Registry that the said registration is devoid of effect from the expiry date of the last period of 10 years.
