The Government created the OMPA at the end of 1995 to manage the work of the Trademarks Registry, which started on 5 December 1996.

• Regulations for the creation of the Office of Trademarks of the Principality of Andorra (OMPA), dated 02/11/1995

In 1998, the Government created the State Signs Service, attached to the OMPA, to ensure the proper public use of these symbols.

• Decree for the creation of the State Signs Service and of its responsibilities, dated 22/07/1998

Subsequently, in 2000, the Government entrusted the management of the ".ad" domain names to the State Signs Service, attached to the OMPA.

• Decree assigning jurisdiction to the State Signs Service, dated 06/09/2000
